There But For The Grace…When You Think You Have It Bad

December 4, 2012  |  Blog

I had to do a quick write up on this video I stumbled into on you tube. Yes it is actually good for something other than angry bird video clips :-)

We go through each day in our lives and it is easy to fall into the trap of bemoaning our circumstances and lamenting over how unfair life has been to us.  All too often we fail to appreciate all the good things that life has given us and instead focus on all the things that we think we need or want.

Once in a while we need to be reminded of what real struggle is  and what real challenges look like. Sometimes we need a gentle nudge to remember what it actually looks like to overcome. This video, while not in  English, contains english subtitles and is really worth watching. So you also can remember what overcoming looks and feels like. What holding onto your dreams and following your true passion can accomplish. We all need these reminders now and then. Here is a big one.

Choi Sung-Bong a homeless boy who had not attended school until high school, and lived on the streets for most of his life selling gum and knick knacks to survive – appears on the Korean version of You’ve Got Talent. You will want to go and get your kleenex at the ready now. There was not one dry eye in the audience or at the judges table.

Which reminds me …..(wiping tears)

Sing, Sing a song Make it simple to last your whole life long. Don’t worry if its not good enough for anyone else to hear Just sing, sing a song.”

Aww hell why not – here’s the full thing:
