There was a time when I never would have thought I would be able to run two minutes straight, let alone for five. Seasoned runners can bypass this post unless a wave of nostalgia is setting in.
Anyone trying to get into running needs to do a quick search of the net for couch 2 5K training. It is a six week program that is based on progressive intervals that work on getting you able to run 5K without stopping.
I use the Iphone app for couch 2 5K along with the NikePlus running program
I am finishing off the week having run two days worth of 5 minute intervals and while it might not sound like a big deal, having hip pain and stiffness, while walking – being able to run for five minutes straight for me is an accomplishment.
