Had one of those interesting "conversations at the water cooler" this morning. A co-worker got into a discussion with me and my working for the Obama campaign and said well a red flag was raised for her when she heard about his refusal to wear the american flag?? To which I looked quite puzzled and said I hadn't heard of any such thing and she was like oh yes she couldn't recall the specific details but she could remember that much and I told her that I would for sure look into that because it sounded so incredibly far fetched.
In the interest of fairness I am citing two sources with regards to this story:
There were tons more source articles for this but the bottom line was that it was a non issue as he was, surprisingly enough "misquoted"(imagine the press misquoting someone - heaven forbid)
The temptest in the teapot was stirred up over a reporter's comment regarding Senator Obama not wearing a pin that he was known to wear around the time of 9/11 that had as its image on front - an American Flag. His repsonse could have been a quick quip about why he wasn't wearing it but he actually stepped back and gave the reporter a detailed explanation which you can read at the ABC News Site for yourself.
It is just a testament to show how misinformation can take off and have a life of it's own. Luckily in this case, it was able to be answered BEFORE the person got to the polls as opposed to after.
People read think and know for yourself - don't allow yourself to be led - don't make important decisions based on heresy that you can't even fully quote...the future of our world and our generations to come is riding on all this.
