Denver or Bust?

Ok I made it finally - I actually got my feet wet at the walk for Obama this past weekend and actually it was fun and the time went by so fast before you knew it we were at the end of the walk. The walk was from 14th Street Union Square to 58th Street Columbus Circle in Manhattan, NY.

The people that were there were very friendly - almost forgot I was in NY (smiles) and even the reception as we were walking - and chanting was really great. It was a good way to start off what im hoping to be involvement in the campaign for the duration. This adds to it because this is where i say what i want and comment on some of the things going on during the campaign trail.

Games People Play ?

This sound bite is getting more press than any of the issues or candidates themselves.

Clinton Speaks about MLK

Let the truth be told however, here is Barack's response

This is what SHE had to say HRC

My fingers are itching to respond to this one.....whoa boy.....

Im going to emulate Obama and try very hard to take the high road while pointing out a few things....

Why would you even in all honesty invoke the name of MLK at this time at this juncture with what is going on right now namely, a political race for nomination of a major party to run for president of the United states?

Not known for quoting MLK on a regular basis what would be your "all of a sudden" reason for doing so now?
Thinking also that there exists a good grasp of the english language there is no earthly reason why one in GOOD (the use of good here is purely intentional) conscience would utter such a thing.

To then turn around and use it to deflect and or gain an advantage - well....I hope and I pray that everyone in this country is paying close attention to all this

We may not get another chance to get it right....this country is so far from where it needs to be....

Change might be our only hope...

The Race Baiting is Getting WAY out of hand...

had to take a moment out and post because this race thing is getting on my ever lasting nerves.
As a woman of color it is absolutely insulting to first of all make the assumption that whatever it was that the Clinton administration did for african americans during the 90's (the only thing that comes to mind is the extension of the drug laws resulting in an increase of african american males in jail) is something for which we are bound to be eternally grateful and somehow OWE them allegiance based on MR. Clinton's presidency

Yes I SAID it and I would say to HER FACE if she were right here in front of me. The media is killing me with race baiting obama meanwhile hillary gets a free pass for CLAIMING that being the wife of a sitting president of the United States somehow makes her more eminently qualified that Barack Obama - WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??

If i go for a job interview I cannot claim experiences that have not directly been MINE - this is utter bullsh*t.

This morning I run into an article Obama and Farrakhan guilt by distant association? by a truly idiotic reporter who seems to feel that it its somehow a "problem" that Barack Obama's church - has a magazine that is run by the daughter of the pastor - that gave an award to someone who has anti-semitic views?? Someone who Mr Obama PROBABLY does not even personally know - His article makes it seem as though because he attends a church that would be involved in the giving of such an award that this makes Senator Obama somehow culpable ?? How crazy is this?

I am God Help us all reminded of the Propaganda machine that Hitler made such wonderful use of during his reign of terror in Germany and am drawn to recall a certain individual named GOEBBELS....this is truly sick - and this just shows indeed how truly sick this nation has become that this type of behavior is not only accepted but cultivated for personal gain - or in this case a run for political office.

The things that have proceeded to come out of the mouths of those calling themselves human beings in the last few days have been nothing short of incredulous. This particularly includes the comments made by Bob( a Pimp named Slickback) Johnson(See the Boondocks).

It is because of Mr Johnson that I have not seen or even know what BET looks like in over several years. I stopped buying ebony magazine years ago because it turned into nothing but a bunch of fluff about nothing of and no one of substance unlike its origins which talked more about people one could actually respect and look up to and who were doing things of siginficance in the Black Community.

The legacy that Mr. Johnson will leave is one in which he is in no small part responsible for the numbing down minds of one or two generations and im sure this is something for which he is very proud.

However the legacy that Barack Obama will leave - contrary to all the race baiting and mud-slinging that is being done right now is one of inspiring hope and bringing people together....

Too bad Hillary and Co. don't read history much evidently - or they would realize that their continued pursuit of maintaining the status quo - relentless pursuit of power and wealth will lead them to the same place it led the French Aristocracy - ok maybe not the guillotine....but close enough....

Another Endorsement and a good one

Butterflies

Today Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont - Chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee and a senior democrat voiced his support and endorsement of Senator Barack Obama as the democratic candidate for the President of the United States.

How can you not as a person of color feel "something" when not only you have a candidate such as Obama running but see this kind of support KNOWING what it is to black and in america....

The full story can be read here including Senator Leahy's remarks regarding obama

Hillary's Curious Math on Experience

What, exactly, was Hillary doing 35 years ago? This article explores the claim by Hillary Clinton that she is the more experienced candidate

Finally this gets mentioned - must be that new math they keep talking about....

All I know is if i am getting on a plane i don't want to hear an announcement that the pilot's WIFE is flying and its ok because she has 8 years of flight experience - said experience consisting of being married to a pilot....

No More Mr. Nice Guy: Obama Mocks Hillary

"Transformative, Restorative": NY Observer Endorses Obama

The New York Observer is set to endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in the upcoming February 5th Democratic primary, The Huffington Post has learned. The Observer writes that the fact that he has "risen too quickly for his opponents' taste" is "nothing less than a recommendation."

Points made in this article are so obvious even stevie wonder could see them. No one was talking about change until Barack started emphasizing that this was one of the main points of his campaign. That he has risen to where is is faster than some would like is telling - why stand in the way of someone who is able to rise with haste in the minefield that US politics has become - the answer might be more self serving to those who chose to do so than not.

Bill Clinton"I kind of like to see Barack and Hillary fight"

Could the Clinton's be more obvious? Will the attacks start

I was wondering how long it would be before Mr Clinton's sexual proclivities came to the forefront. Where we come from Mr Clinton would be called a stone freak for making this comment. Those who read this know just what I am talking about.

If this wasn't an election they would be off somewhere swinging......

Just can't make this stuff up...

The CA Majority Report // Breaking News: Obama Support!

The California Teachers' Union will NOT be endorsing Hillary Clinton at this time, because the "rank and file" mutinied against the leadership re: their "coronation" efforts before Feb. 5th! Not so fast, the members say...

Wonder how long it will be before there's lawyers called and involved. Being oblivious to what's right in front of you solves nothing. One of the biggest liabilities to the "Clinton's and this "campaign" that they are running is their OBLIVIOUSNESS and each time they throw the race card out, try to spin lies out of facts that are available for anyone who wishes to read for themselves, or try to inflate experience into something more than what it was....they show themselves to be more and more out of touch with the very people they claim to have an affinity with.

Obama Online Donations: $500,000/hour After SC Win

The Obama campaign measures online donations every 15 minutes, and the source said that online money was pouring in at the rate of more than $500,000 per hour.

Which I can attest to - trying to sign in that evening to update my blog posts the site was at first maddeningly slow and ultimately went down for several hours.

Nice to know that it was money coming in that caused it!

Edwards drops out of Presidential race.

Democrat John Edwards is exiting the presidential race Wednesday, ending a scrappy underdog bid in which he steered his rivals toward progressive ideals while grappling with family hardship that roused voters'sympathies but never diverted his campaign, The Associated Press has learned.

It was a long time coming and I actually liked some of his ideas and some of his positions on things. It would be incredibly nice to see an Obama/Edwards ticket in November...Hint Hint....

An Ex-President, a Mining Deal and a Big Donor

A Canadian financier who traveled to Kazakhstan with Bill Clinton and won a big mining deal later donated millions to Mr. Clinton’s charitable foundation.

In reading through this story one is reminded of the kind of politics that most of the people in this country are TIRED of. Influence peddling, and business deals that are shady at best. Thing is this is business as usual for not just the clinton's but many of the old guard in the White House and in corporate boardrooms all across this country.

Seemingly, the perpetrators of this are oblivious to how TIRED people are of things being done this way. Which in the case of the Clintons puts them so far out of touch with whats really going on in this country as to not be believed.

One of the main reasons why Barack Obama's campaign has been doing so well is BECAUSE he is basing his campaign on change and speakign to people who want to change the way things are done. Not just wanting to be president.

In Bill and Hillary's defense, must be hard to see through all that "donated" money. I am sure that must be what it is....

Obama and the American Flag Pin Story

Had one of those interesting "conversations at the water cooler" this morning. A co-worker got into a discussion with me and my working for the Obama campaign and said well a red flag was raised for her when she heard about his refusal to wear the american flag?? To which I looked quite puzzled and said I hadn't heard of any such thing and she was like oh yes she couldn't recall the specific details but she could remember that much and I told her that I would for sure look into that because it sounded so incredibly far fetched.

In the interest of fairness I am citing two sources with regards to this story:

ABCNews and also FoxNews

There were tons more source articles for this but the bottom line was that it was a non issue as he was, surprisingly enough "misquoted"(imagine the press misquoting someone - heaven forbid)

The temptest in the teapot was stirred up over a reporter's comment regarding Senator Obama not wearing a pin that he was known to wear around the time of 9/11 that had as its image on front - an American Flag. His repsonse could have been a quick quip about why he wasn't wearing it but he actually stepped back and gave the reporter a detailed explanation which you can read at the ABC News Site for yourself.

It is just a testament to show how misinformation can take off and have a life of it's own. Luckily in this case, it was able to be answered BEFORE the person got to the polls as opposed to  after.

People read think and know for yourself - don't allow yourself to be led - don't make important decisions based on heresy that you can't even fully quote...the future of our world and our generations to come is riding on all this.

Bradley Effect - Just call it what it is...

while on the subject of choice - I have to bring forward an observation or two of my own. Imagine for one second if you will - the Bradley Effect  gone horribly wrong - some who are bound and determined not to vote for a black candidate no matter what and search for instead, justifications to support their lack of(support).

I mention this because the conversation this morning sounded so much like trying to find a reason to say I can't support Obama. Funny thing was this person, up until today had no reason to defend her positions and they were probably taken ver batim. Whereas this morning  each issue she tried to float up as a potential reason not to vote for Obama got shot down.  An example is the post previous to this where the Issue of Obama not wearing the american flag for her was a (red flag) go figures?

Why say all this  - simple because  these are the people that cause Obama to lose by 3 points. They hear tidbits of information floating around in the air and because they are not  "tech savy" or  "internet geeks" they are only exposed to the evening news and whatever they choose to spin that evening.

I think most reading this post would agree that the MSM is far from being fair and impartial and has been that way since the days of Walter Cronkite.

Damn i just told my age.....
