Ran into my son's surgeon today - for once it was a good meeting

I ran into Dr. Lacquaglia today - He's the surgeon that did the initial surgery to remove most of the tumor that my son had last summer.

He asked how Dante was doing and if he had already gone away to school which I told him was not till next week. He wanted to know what his class load was like and I told him about the advanced physics class. He mentioned that his son had taken advanced physics and that it was a very hard class. I laughed because I thought to myself if the Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering feels a class is hard then it must be like learning chinese arithmatic.

He asked for Dante's number when he gets settled in and I told him he didnt have one yet but that once he got one I would leave the information with his secretary. He also asked for his dorm information as he says he goes to philly often because his daugter goes to Villanova and his son goes to Penn State. (rolls eyes at this) I thought it was nice of him to want to know about dante and he said he would try and visit him while he was in town up there.

Honest to goodness after the events of the last few days this conversation was like a balm to soothe frazzled nerves. It made me feel good again to know people are out there pulling for my son and that they have an interest in how he's doing beyond the "clinical" interest.

Thank you God for your continued blessings...
